Invasive Species

Our PRIMARY resource in North Central MN is the quality of our lakes and streams. That quality dramatically affects
tourism, land values, economic enjoyment and our future.  These nasty little aliens are already in the Whitefish Chain, Mille Lacs, Gull, Pelican, Prior Lake, Minnetonka, Ossawinnamakee, and other lakes around MN!
We need to keep them OUT of our waters.

Crooked Lake Township created an AIS Committee on March 12, 2012 at the Annual Open Town Meeting. The purpose of this committee is to develop and implement a plan to help prevent the AIS contamination of the lakes of Crooked Lake Township.
If you would be willing to help with this effort, please call Ed Evans (218) 792-5767 or e-mail him at Evansedxm@aol.com.

The AIS Committee has created and disseminated a “Legislative Letter” intended to provide AIS guidance to our elected representatives. If you would be willing to send a letter on occasion, please contact Ed Evans (evansedxm@aol.com).  A copy of the current sample letter is reproduced below:
